Thailand Yachts Travel

The Kingdom of Thailand draws more visitors than any other country in southeast Asia with its irresistible combination of breathtaking natural beauty, inspiring temples, renowned hospitality, robust cuisine and ruins of fabulous ancient kingdoms. From the stupa-studded mountains of Mae Hong Son and the verdant limestone islands of the Andaman Sea, to the pulse-pounding dance clubs of Bangkok and the tranquil villages moored along the Mekong River, Thailand offers something for every type of traveler.

Thailand enjoys a tropical climate with three distinct seasons-hot and dry from February to May (average temperature 34 degrees Celsius and 75% humidity); rainy with plenty of sunshine from June to October (average day temperature 29 degrees Celsius and 87% humidity); and cool from November to January (temperatures range from 32 degrees Celsius to below 20 degrees Celsius with a drop in humidity).

Much lower temperatures are experienced in the North and Northeast during nighttime. The South has a tropical rainforest climate with temperatures averaging 28 degrees Celsius almost all year round.

The charter area Thailand is a popular destination in Southeast Asia sharing borders with Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Malaysia. Surrounded by the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, the country has a fascinating culture and is well known for its boundless hospitality.

The most famous sailing area is the Andaman Sea, a fantastic location off the west coast of Thailand full of unspoiled tropical islands brimming with diverse national parks and untouched nature. In part, the area is still untravelled and you rarely meet other boats.

There are many good anchorages in secluded coves where you can enjoy the overwhelming beauty of the Andaman Sea all to yourself. Thailand is an island paradise with a breathtaking backdrop. Sailing here you will find dazzling white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and many secluded coves and rocks amongst the emerald waters.

On the west coast there are numerous attractions, like the Bay of Phang Nga with its offshore islands or the 120 km long coastline of Krabi with many natural lagoons. There is an abundance of beautiful islands here such as: the Koh Phi Phi Islands, Phi Phi Le, Koh Lanta, Koh Lipe, Koh Tarutao, Koh Similan, Koh Surin and many more. The Gulf of Thailand is another idyllic sailing area. In this area there are the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Chang – the second largest island of Thailand, which is worth exploring.

The Thai overseas territories have a fantastic marine life and are excellent for snorkeling and diving. he largest yacht charter area Thailand base is the island of Phuket. There are several marinas on the island that offer good service and facilities, such as: Yacht Harbor Marina Phuket, Ao Po Grand Marina, Ao Chalong Yacht Club and Phuket Boat Lagoon.

The range of charter yachts in Thailand is relatively large. However, the sailing infrastructure is not as well developed as in Europe.

A good starting point for a sailing trip is the Marina at the northern end of Phuket as it has modern facilities and can accommodate over 200 yachts for charter. The Ao Po Grand Marina, and the Ao Chalong Yacht Club Marina are also fine starting points. From these points you can explore the west coast of Thailand and the islands of the Andaman Sea. Other possibilities for yacht charter are on Koh Samui and Koh Chang. Here, there is a good selection of yachts but the sailing infrastructure is poorer than in Phuket.

Outside of the charter bases there are a few other ports and marinas. Thailand has very relaxed rules and regulations. There are no area restrictions for sailors so charter crews can move very freely. As for the cost of living, Thailand is a cheap destination and yacht charter is considered a luxury.

Reasons to visit

The Beaches

Some of the most unspoiled beaches in the world are in Thailand. The sight of the powdery white sands running up to the emerald waters is likely to make up for you some of the most beautiful memories that you will ever have.

From temples and palaces to museums and traditional shows, Thailand is a cultural paradise. One of their first places that you should head to is the King’s 150-year-old residence, the Grand Palace of 1782. With dazzling architecture and spectacularly landscaped grounds, it’s a must-see

Taking a taxi in New York City costs approximately $3 a mile. In Thailand, it costs around 30 cents. A 3-course Thai meal at a midrange restaurant costs $10, and a bottle of imported beer costs $1.50. If you want to shop, the prices are usually a pleasant surprise to anyone coming in from the West.

In Thailand, the spectacular flavors of the local cuisine are everywhere. The streets swirl with a fantastic bouquet of the country’s complex cuisine, day or night. By the time you’re ready to return home, you will likely be hooked to a half-dozen flavors that you never imagined possible.

In Thailand’s cities, the nightlife starts in the afternoon. Sunset cocktails at rooftop skyscraper restaurants are a popular way to get an evening going. Nightspots, streets full of clubs and beach parties are all part of Thailand’s vigorous night scene.
